The Raspberry Pi – Education in a Tiny Package

Raspberry Pi is a network of low-cost, low-power single-board computer systems developed in the United Kingdom in association with the Raspberry Pi Foundation. Early on, the Raspberry Pi project aimed towards the promotion of education in developing countries and in teaching basic computer skills to students. It was founded by a group of school science teachers in the United Kingdom. Currently, over 40 schools in the United Kingdom offer classes using the Raspberry Pi as a teaching resource for students. These schools are located across the country, in addition to those in Italy, Spain, China, Germany, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
